I, Jäckie Rydz (they/them) am a Polish-German director, writer, and stage designer. My first institutional production, BABYLON, premiered in April 2023 at Nowy Teatr Warsaw and was presented at Le Lampenfieber, HundertPro! Festival and Theater der Welt 2023 supporting programme.

I completed a B.A. in Stage Design at the University of the Arts Berlin and an M.A. in Applied Theater Studies in Gießen. Additionally, since 2019, I have been working as a freelance performer and stage designer across Europe.

I was a fellow of the EU-wide ChangeNow! program and the Academy of the International Theatre Institute Germany. In my artistic research I question how society functions by challenging its rituals through immersive stage designs, poetic texts, and queer bodies.

My most recent work, FC GLORIA, addresses the invisibilization of queer bodies in football and political positions in the German cultural scene.
